Grandma's Attic
I told Paul to find something for us to do with Jane Ritchie on Saturday. He found Grandma's Attic at the State Archives. We went to check it out and it was awesome. They had crafts you could do to take home, dress up clothes, games, colors, blocks....everything you can imagine. I'm sure on the weekdays it is crowded with field trips and stuff but on Saturday morning we had the place to ourselves!

Huntingdon Game
The last tailgate of my Dad's campaign was at Huntingdon on Nov. 1. Both of my parents went to Huntingdon so it is always fun to go there. The football field is right down the street from us so we could walk if we wanted! The weather was great and the Huntingdon creamed the other team. They played Principia which is a Christian Scientist school. It was interesting to learn that they do not have team doctors, only prayer nurses.
Jane Ritchie had a good time running around. Her favorite part was listening to the band and watching the game from the President's Box.

Samford Tailgate
We tailgated with Dad at the Samford v. Appalachian State game. It was fun to see old friends and professors! Jane Ritchie had a great time running around.
I have to admit I got kind of teary eyed being back there. It started when Steve and Jenifer Worley came by. They had been down his fraternity house to see it for the last time because it is being torn down. They had not been back to Samford in 9 years. It definitely is a special place. Some who were with us and went to schools that shall remain nameless, couldn't believe that I actually remembered my college professors! Ha! That's why I love Samford.

Even little Tyler McCrory got in on the campaign action!

Talladega
Two weekends ago, Paul, Dad, Sam and Angela went to the NASCAR race at Talladega. Mom and I were smart and stayed in Birmingham and went shopping! Dad got to ride in the pace car and said a few words at the beginning of the race. Paul got to go in the suite with Dad. All in all, it was a great first Talladega experience for Paul!

BTW, GWC and the Tuskegee Airmen
On the way to Auburn we stopped in Tuskegee to check out the sites. Booker T. Washington's home was closed for renovation, but we got to see the George Washington Carver museum and the Tuskegee campus. On the way back to the interstate we went to the airfield to see the Tuskegee Airmen museum. Right now the museum is pretty small, but they have built a new hangar which is opening in a couple of weeks. So, eventually it should be a pretty nice attraction.
