New Toy

The best $2 I ever spent at a yard sale bought this keyboard for Jane Ritchie. Now she can type emails to her pen pals! :)

Still Best Friends

11 months old and highly entertaining!

My Smart Husband

We decided to paint Jane Ritchie's new high chair fire engine red. Actually, it was Paul's idea. It looks great and we'll post a picture as soon as it is finished. The cool thing is that I received the July issue of Country Living today and right at the beginning of the magazine is a tribute to the color red. Listen to this...

"Red updates everyday furnishings and adds vitality to any room."

"Fire engine red instantly energizes a room."

Wow! I guess we'll have an engergized kitchen that's full of vitality!!!

Way to go Paul!

Four of My Favorite Things

I'm going with the trend and posting some of my favorite things that you might also like!

1. McDonald's Sweet Tea
This may not be new to some of you in the South, but out here in California McDonald's is the only place to get sweet tea. It's actually not bad! And, it is only $1 for 32 oz. When I get some, I keep it in the fridge all day as a treat!

2. Annie Chun's Noodle Bowls-- These things are awesome. All you need is some water and a microwave. I had the Kung Pao Noodles today and they were sooooooooo good. I think if I had cooked some chicken it would have been even better. Get two of them, cook some chicken and you have an easy dinner for two. The sauce comes separately so you can control the amount that you want. Too bad I've only seen these at Whole Foods, aka Whole Paycheck.

3. Deep Fried Kudzu www.deepfriedkudzu.com -- No, it's not the newest Southern delicacy, it's a blog! If you are from Alabama, live in Alabama, ever plan to visit Alabama, you must add this blog as one of your favorites. I secretly stalked this blog and when I told my Mom about it, she made friends with the author! Now we are friends, too! She has a son around Jane Ritchie's age so we can't wait to meet them when we get back home.

4. Facebook www.facebook.com -- Paul and I are officially addicted and now we're in a race to see who can get the most friends. Right now, I have soooooooo many more than he does. However, he is slowly but surely gaining ground. We have had the best time catching up with old friends. If you are not on Facebook, then hurry up!!! If you are on Facebook and not already our friend, then add us!

Houses of Pacific Grove

I finally remembered to take a camera on our walk this morning. I love all the houses in Pacific Grove. I have never seen such a variety of types of houses anywhere. There are houses built in the late 1800s next to brand new construction next to 1960s apartment buildings, and it all works. Next time I'll take pictures of the funny bumper stickers. But, I won't include the 10,000 Obama stickers I've seen in town! For now, here are some cute houses.

Love this yard!

You can have this one below for a cool $1,999,988. Porsche not included. This is new construction right up the street from us.

Love these windows!

This little beach cottage that's not on the beach is only $625,000 and is on a double lot. hmmm..

There are alot of eclectic yards/patios.

Check out this purple house, complete with a green VW Bug. I also love the little garage!

Gorgeous!
Lovely!

One of my favorites!

This older home has been redone.

Ignore the Hillary sign. Love the steps up to the entrance!

Cute little cottage!!!!
This is what the Pacific Grove historical markers look like. Plain and simple.

The Pacific Grove Inn B&B

Cute mural inside the Post Office
This house is right in downtown. It is called The White House. I think it used to be a restaurant. It is now for sale. whew!
City Hall

They just finished repainting this one. Not too sure about the colors!

Our house! We will be sad to leave it!
